550g–600g (Lightweight)

Because a Duan Jian is shorter than a Jian, heavier weight ranges are not available)

Length

Standard length : 25 in (63.5 cm) blade, 5.5 in (14 cm) grip
Custom length : Choose the Blade and Grip length

Notes :

The maximum Blade length of a Duanjian is 25 inches (63,5 cm)
The blade length is measured from the grip side of the guard to the tip, and the grip length does not include the pommel.

Grip Blade

Wood

Select a hardwood, listed below from lightest to heaviest. All woods are finish with three coats of resistant oil sealer and can withstand contact training.

Prices:

Included: Hickory, Hard Maple, Red Oak, and Ash .

Extra: White Oak (+12 CAD), Purple Heart (+20 CAD), Jatoba (+20 CAD), Bloodwood (+20 CAD), Wenge(+30 CAD).

Weight ranges available for each wood:

Ash and Red Oak : Flyweight to Lightweight

Hard Maple : Featherweight to light-Middleweight

White Oak, Hickory and Wenge: Lightweight to Middleweight

Purple Heart, Jatoba and Bloodwood : Light-Middleweight to Super-Middleweight

Blade

Select your blade type depending on your training use:

1. Sparring Blade: Rounded edges and tip for heavy drilling and sparring, safer for a training partner or opponent's body. Can also be used for form training and lighter applications.

2. Technical Blade: Semi-rounded edges and tip, also suited for intensive drilling (blade on blade) and moderate contact applications to a training partner’s body, but unsafe for full-contact sparring.

Style

Select a style that you like. All styles have the same build quality and balance. The different designs are purely for aesthetic preference. Only the Han styles 9 and 10 have different handle shapes.

5 : Genuine leather wrap on dark red handle : + 50 CAD
6 : Additional option of contrasted wood on guard and pommel : +20 CAD (Choose contrasted wood in wood options. This option has to be matched with another grip option. For example, on the photo below, you have Option 6 (+20 CAD) + Option 3 (+12 CAD), with Purple Heart. The total is +32 CAD
